2022 LEND A HAND SPORTS CHARITY EVENT

Our 11th Annual Lend A Hand Sports Charity Event will be virtual again this year and be held as an on-line fundraiser as the Lower Dauphin turf field is being replaced and not available for our event. The four recipients who will share the proceeds this year are Zack Davis, Melissa Holland, Kathryn Kemble, and Maria Shaffer. Please see below to read descriptions of the life changing circumstances of our 2022 families.
Please donate to our 2022 Lend a Hand Event. We understand times are difficult, and there are many worthy fundraisers to support. Please consider our charitable event and give what you are able. We thank our supporters who have made financial donations in the past and we hope you can do so again this year. Our collection deadline is June 3, 2022.

Our 2022 LAH Recipients
Zack Davis Family Zack, a senior at LD and a LD football player was in a serious car accident on March 13. Zack remains in the ICU with severe brain injury with uncertainty of his recovery and long term effects. The family was planning on moving to Germany at the end of the school year as Zack’s father was to be stationed in Germany but the future for Zack and the family are uncertain.
Holland & Family. Melissa, a 93’ LD graduate, and her three children, lost her husband and their father in September 2021 after being diagnosed with a rare disease just months early. Melissa was a stay at home mother and now deciding on her next career path. Her oldest child is a 2020 LD graduate and her two other children will graduate in 23’ & 27’. The two youngest children are involved in LD volleyball and hoping to generate funds to attend nationals in Orlando this summer.
Kathryn (Kitty) Kemble. An unexpected triple bypass surgery and extensive recovery created undue hardships for Kittie in many ways. She is considered one of LD field hockey’s long term SUPERFANS, always present to support and cheer on the girls! It is now our time to support Kittie!!
Shaffer Family. Maria and Derek are LD teachers and have a 2017 LD grad and three daughters who currently attend LD. Maria had a bilateral mastectomy in November 2021 and is currently in an extensive chemo treatment program causing a significant life change. She must teach virtually on treatment days and is unable to do after school tutoring nor participate in the summer reading program

Coach Kreiser is a nationally known and recognized and has impacted the lives of thousands of young athletes over the years.
The Lend A Hand event is a program supported by the Lower Dauphin Falcon Foundation, a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization
The special one-day annual Lend A Hand Sports Charity Event is highlighted with “fun” field hockey tournaments for youth, middle school, high school and adult teams from around the region. Families, friends, field hockey fans and community members attend to watch fun and competitive field hockey and enjoy all the special activities that are happening while the games are played.
Softball and baseball enthusiast are provided opportunities to support the LAH charity event. The Hummelstown Volunteer Fire Department challenges the staff of Lower Dauphin School District to a softball game. A softball home run derby for all age groups is held plus a softball clinic for young female players.
New 2019 is a baseball clinic for upcoming baseball players.
The special one-day annual Charity Event is highlighted with “fun” for All.
For the friends and siblings of players or children of adults, the “bouncy” activities are a hit!
The bags of raffle items available during the event are full of donated items from individuals and businesses from the area.
Live music entertainment offers a time to relax and enjoy the food from the concessions stand.
On-Line Auction… for those who like the challenge to bid on nice items of value.
